Perry knocks over McGrath [Source: @WBBL/X.Com]
Ellyse Perry, the Queen of swing bowling delivered yet another masterclass in the ongoing Women's Big Bash League contest between Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Sixers. Playing for the Sixers, she was at her absolute best as the Strikers found it hard to get going against her.
In a swing bowling masterclass against the Adelaide Strikers, Perry used the conditions to her advantage and bowled a pearler to knock over her national teammate, Tahlia McGrath. McGrath, the Strikers captain came out to bat when her side was in a precarious situation.
However, she couldn't deliver the goods and faced the wrath of Perry. She delivered a length ball which pitched outside the off and nipped back in sharply to castle the stumps. McGrath left a big bat-pad gap as the ball sneaked through and knocked the timbers to shock the Strikers captain.
Perry followed it up with another blow as the Strikers all-rounder dismissed the dangerous Laura Wolvaardt for 18 to put her side right on top.
Contrasting starts from both the teams in WBBL
Both the teams have had a contrasting starts to the tournament. Both the sides have played a solitary match, and the results have been opposite, with Sixers winning their first match, and Strikers suffering a loss.
In the opening match of the tournament, Strikers lost a close-fought contest against Brisbane Heat and find themselves at the second last position. On the other hand, Sydney Sixers, too, won a nail-biter against Melbourne Renegades and are at the fourth position in the points table.
