In a significant development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Rest of India squad for the upcoming Irani Trophy encounter against Mumbai at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Stylish Maharashtra batter Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead the side, with Abhimanyu Easwaran playing his deputy. However, Kerala's experienced cricketer Sanju Samson missed out on a selection, as Dhruv Jurel and Ishan Kishan were included as wicket-keepers.

Gaikwad And Easwaran To Spearhead ROI's Batting Unit Alongside Sai Sudharsan

The squad also features the in-form B Sai Sudharsan, who enjoyed stellar success with the bat in the recently held Duleep Trophy. The southpaw was India C's second most successful batter, amassing 211 runs, including a century, in the competition.

Gaikwad and Easwaran also had a memorable Duleep Trophy campaign, garnering 232 and 309 runs, respectively. Easwaran, in particular, earned massive applause for slamming two gritty centuries following an ordinary start to the tournament.

Apart from these three players, the eyes will also be on Devdutt Padikkal and Ishan Kishan, who looked sublime in the Duleep Trophy. Meanwhile, Dhruv Jurel and Yash Dayal's participation in the tournament is subject to their availability, as they have been included in India's squad for the second Test against Bangladesh.

Mukesh, Khaleel And Prasidh Form A Rampant Pace Battery

The Rest Of India's pace battery is formidable, studded with Mukesh Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, and Prasidh Krishna. These three fast bowlers can make the ball talk across phases and thus can be valuable assets for the team in the Irani Trophy.
