Riyan Parag was in ominous touch on Saturday (September 21) while playing for India A in Match 6 of the Duleep Trophy 2024 at Rural Development Trust Stadium, Anantapur. He made 73 runs off 101 balls, with five fours and one six before Ruturaj Gaikwad took a spectacular catch that left everyone in awe.

In an attempt to attack Gaurav Yadav, Parag came down the attack to slash it over wide mid-off, where Gaikwad was placed. However, the CSK skipper did not give up, and kept looking at the ball before throwing his hand in air in perfection to pluck a catch out of nowhere.

While Parag was in complete disbelief after watching Gaikwad take a screamer, the latter pointed his finger in air to confirm it was cleanly taken. Therefore, the Rajasthan Royals star batter had to return to the pavilion without getting a well-deserved hundred.

India A Vs India C: What Happened So Far?

Talking about the match, India A lead by 333 runs at stumps on Day 3 against India C, with 270/6 on the board in the second innings. In their first innings, they posted 297 before losing all ten wickets. In reply, India C were bundled out for 234, with Abishek Porel top-scoring with a valiant 82.

Apart from Parag, Shashwat Rawat, who made 124 in the first innings, shone with the bat. Rawat scored 53, that too off 67 balls before Manav Suthar ended his stay.
