In a significant development, Australia have dropped Travis Head for the all-important third One-Day International against England at Riverside Ground in Chester-Le-Street. England captain Harry Brook won the toss and opted to bowl and capitalise on the initial seam-friendly conditions. Meanwhile, Australian skipper Mitchell Marsh revealed that Head wouldn't participate in this game, with Cameron Green replacing him in the lineup.

Australian skipper Mitchell Marsh disclosed that Head would rest for this game, having developed soreness. The visitors will also miss the services of ace leg spinner Adam Zampa, who has been ruled out of the game due to illness. Promising all-rounder Cameron Green replaces Head, while fast bowler Sean Abbott comes in place of Zampa.

Travis Head's Absence: A Sigh Of Relief For England

Renowned for his scintillating stroke play, Travis Head enjoyed stellar success in the first ODI at Trent Bridge, leading Australia to a clinical seven-wicket victory with a stunning century. Opening the batting, Head struck 154 runs off just 129 deliveries with the help of twenty boundaries and five massive sixes. His incredible knock helped Australia chase down a challenging 316-run target in 44 overs with seven wickets to spare.

Head resumed from where he left in the subsequent affair at Headingley, playing a quick-fire cameo of 29 runs. Despite not converting his start into a significant score, Head looked sublime until Brydon Carse trapped him with a short ball

So, considering his red-hot recent form, England must be relieved that he won't feature in the much-anticipated clash in Chester-Le-Street. Having incurred heavy defeats in the first two matches, the hosts would be desperate to break their losing streak and stay alive in the series.
