Ross Taylor To Play For Samoa In T20 WC Qualifiers

Former New Zealand cricketer Ross Taylor has reversed his international retirement to play for Samoa at the Asia-East Asia-Pacific T20 World Cup 2026 qualifier. The 41-year-old expressed his excitement and stated that he “always wanted to give something back to the Polynesian community” in some capacity. Taylor, a veteran of 112 Tests, 236 ODIs and 102 T20I matches for New Zealand between the years 2006 and 2022, aggregated over 18,000 runs in his international career. The Asia-East Asia-Pacific T20 World Cup 2026 qualifier will be played between October 8 and October 17 in Oman next month.

Indian cricketer and Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer has partnered up with prominent American sports footwear and apparel corporation Nike for a global ad campaign, titled “Why do it?”. Shreyas became the only Indian athlete to take part in the campaign, as the corporation celebrated some of the greatest sportspersons worldwide. The 30-year-old shared the spotlight with the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Saquon Barkley and LeBron James among others.

Shubman Gill And Co. To Train With Red Ball In Asia Cup 2025

As reported by the Inside Sport, players who will feature in the continental event as well as in the subsequent Test series will practice with the red ball considering the two assignments only have a gap of four days in between them.

Sanju Samson Links Up With Gambhir For Asia Cup Prep

Amid reports of losing his opening slot to Indian Test skipper and newly-appointed T20I vice-captain Shubman Gill, blistering wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson has joined national head coach Gautam Gambhir in the UAE for the upcoming 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup. Samson was spotted training in the ground as he was accompanied by Gambhir as well as by India fielding coach T Dilip. The attacking opener, despite undergoing a below-par IPL 2025 season and a T20I series against England earlier this year, was included in Team India squad for the Asia Cup in the UAE by the BCCI last month.

Mayank Agarwal Joins Yorkshire For County Championship

Indian Test discard Mayank Agarwal has joined Yorkshire on a short-term deal for the remainder of the ongoing 2025 County Championship season in England. The 34-year-old last played a Test match for Team India back in March 2022 during a home series against Sri Lanka. Agarwal recently lifted the IPL 2025 trophy for the RCB franchise, scoring a pacey 24 in the final against Punjab Kings.

In his first county stint, the elegant right-handed batter will likely play three matches for Yorkshire, starting from September 8 with a game against Somerset before returning to India for the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season.
