Sanju Samson has linked up with Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir to begin preparations for the upcoming 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup in the UAE. The blistering wicketkeeper-batter recently represented the Kochi Blue Tigers team in the ongoing KCL T20 2025 season in India.

Last month, Samson was selected in India’s 15-player squad for the 2025 Asia Cup, even though the 30-year-old underwent a below-par IPL 2025 season for the Rajasthan Royals franchise and a disastrous home T20I series against England earlier this year.

Sanju Samson And Gambhir Spotted Together In Intense Training

Sanju Samson has arrived in the UAE to join the Indian cricket team for the 2025 Asia Cup. On Day 1 of India’s training session, the seasoned wicketkeeper-batter seemingly hit the nets as the cricketer was spotted sharing an intense discussion with head coach and former opener Gautam Gambhir, as per an exclusive CREX report.

Both Samson and Gambhir were even accompanied by India’s fielding coach T Dilip.

While Sanju Samson has been opening the innings for Team India in T20Is for over a year, the cricketer’s batting position might well be compromised this Asia Cup 2025 over the return of Indian Test skipper and newly-appointed T20I vice-captain Shubman Gill.

Nonetheless, Samson’s intense talks with Gautam Gambhir might indicate that the Indian coaching management has a suitable plan all drawn up for the dynamic top-order batter.

Team India will head into the Asia Cup 2025 as defending champions, having won the previous 2023 edition (ODI) in Sri Lanka.

Under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson and the rest of his Indian colleagues will go up against tournament hosts UAE in the opening match of the tournament’s Group A stage on September 10 at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai.
