In a surprising moment ahead of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) vs Chennai Super Kings (CSK) IPL 2025 showdown RR head coach Rahul Dravid was spotted inspecting the pitch while seated in a wheelchair. He is forced to move in a wheelchair after sustaining a leg injury during a local match in Bengaluru.
IPL 2025 is set to host an exciting clash between RR and CSK on March 30 at the Guwahati Stadium. The stakes are high for the Royals as they lost both their opening fixtures to SRH and KKR.
Hence, a win against CSK is important to put some runs on the board and stay in contention for the competitive playoff race.
Rahul Dravid Roams In Wheelchair Ahead Of RR-CSK Game
Before the clash could begin, Rajasthan Royals’ head coach Rahul Dravid was seen inspecting the Guwahati pitch. However, Dravid was seen roaming around in a wheelchair since he is yet to recover from the leg injury sustained before the beginning of the IPL 2025 season.
The incident occurred when Dravid turned out for Vijaya Cricket Club in the Nassur Memorial Shield tournament. Batting at No. 6, he managed 10 runs off eight balls before realising that the game had taken a toll on his body.
Despite Dravid’s presence in the dugout, RR hasn’t had the best start to their IPL 2025 campaign. The team has suffered back-to-back losses, first to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 44 runs and then to Kolkata Knight Riders by eight wickets.
Regardless, the coach is optimistic of his team’s odds to bounce back as he argued that the tournament is still in its early stages and plenty of time is left to the Royals to turn the tables.
CSK Wins The Toss And Opts To Bowl
In a crucial IPL 2025 encounter at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first against Rajasthan Royals. RR's stand-in captain Riyan Parag, leading in the absence of Sanju Samson, admitted they also would have opted to bowl first due to expected dew later in the game.
However, he remained optimistic about RR’s chances. CSK made two changes as Jamie Overton replaced Sam Curran and Vijay Shankar came in for Deepak Hooda. Unlike CSK, RR have retained their playing XI from their previous game against KKR.
