In a significant development, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have won the toss and opted to bowl first in their third IPL 2025 match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. At toss, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad stated that his side would bowl first in order to capitalise on the playing conditions.
CSK Vs RR: Captains' Thoughts
"We are going to bowl first. It looks a good wicket so we are going to chase. So far so good for us. It was a pretty quick turnaround for us, very little time for rest and that's what IPL is. We are up for the challenge.
"Definitely it's a lovely sight to see. We have come here for the first time as a franchise and it's so good to see so much love from the fans right from the team hotel. We have got 2 changes in our XI. Jamie Overton comes in for Sam Curran and Vijay Shankar comes in for Deepak Hooda," Gaikwad stated.
On the other hand, RR's stand-in captain Riyan Parag revealed that they would've bowled first as well, saying,
"Yes, we would have bowled first as well. The dew settles in later. But we have to do both better.(On playing in Guwahati) Can't describe it in words. My hometown. I have been brought up here. Growing up among these people. A special feeling to play here.
We have done well in small bits. It will be about coming in and putting in a collective performance and that will help us get the right result. Same team."
