Rohit Sharma cracked 121* to notch up his 33rd ODI century, while Kohli roared back into form through his 74*. Through the course of their match-winning partnership, both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli became ODI cricket’s most successful batting pair against Australia. Rohit also levelled up with Sachin Tendulkar (45) as the second highest century maker across all international formats.
Shreyas Iyer suffers nasty injury while fielding in AUS vs IND
Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer hurt his left rib cage while fielding against Australia in the third ODI of the series at the SCG. The incident occurred during the 34th over of the Australian innings when Iyer was running back to complete a brilliant catch to dismiss a well-set Alex Carey off fast bowler Harshit Rana. As per a BCCI update, the cricketer has now been taken to a hospital for further assessment. Despite his injury, Shreyas still has ample time to recover ahead of India’s home series against South Africa.
Alana King claims huge world record with WC spell vs SA
Australian leg-spinner Alana King claimed career-best ODI figures of 7-18 against South Africa in match 26 of the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in Indore. It took her just 21 balls to complete a five-wicket haul, thus becoming the fastest cricketer in Women’s ODI history to pick up five wickets in an innings, in terms of number of balls. Alana King’s spell helped Australia Women shoot out the entire South African line-up for just 97 in 24 overs. Australia knocked over those runs in just 16.5 overs with seven wickets to spare to remain unbeaten this tournament.
Australia Women players molested prior to SA fixture
In a shocking development, two Australia Women players were molested outside their hotel in Indore prior to their 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup match against South Africa. The players in concern immediately sent an SOS message to the team manager. The manager acted quickly and informed the local police, who rushed to the scene at the earliest and arrested the accused, a history-sheeter named Aqeel Khan. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as well as the International Cricket Council (ICC) have since issued clarification over the shocking incident.

As many as 25 wickets fell in the 68-over opening day of the Elite Group C match of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season between Assam and Services at the Tinsukia District Sports Association Ground. In the first innings of the match itself, Services bowlers Mohit Jangra (3-5) and Arjun Sharma (5-46) picked up a hat-trick each to fold up the entire Assam line-up for just 103 in 17.2 overs, thus marking a rare occurrence where two different bowlers picked up hat-tricks in a single first-class innings.
