Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has ignited fresh speculation among fans with a cryptic social media comment, seemingly referring Shikhar Dhawan has gone viral, with many interpreting it as a hidden reference to his rumoured alimony settlement. 

This incident follows another recent post by Chahal concerning alimony on his Instagram story, further fuelling public discussion about his separation from ex-wife Dhanashree Verma.

Chahal takes fresh jab at ex-wife with '4-crore' remark

The online buzz began when Dhawan shared photos from his family's Diwali and Bhai Doj celebrations. Yuzvendra Chahal commented, “Aapke pose pe copyright maar raha hun bhaiya, 4 crores only (I'm putting a copyright claim on your pose, brother, 4 crores only)." Dhawan played along with the banter, replying, “Deal pakki (It's a done deal)."

This exchange quickly drew reactions from netizens, who connected the "4 crores" figure to the speculated divorce settlement. Notably, Chahal's comment comes shortly after he shared a since-deleted screenshot of a court verdict on his Instagram story.

The post stated, “Financially independent wives cannot demand alimony from their husbands," to which Chahal added, “Maa Kasam Khao Nahi Paltoge iss Decision Seh (Swear on your mother you won’t go back on this decision)."

The separation saga of Chahal and Dhanashree

Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma, who married in 2020 and were a popular celebrity couple, finalised their divorce earlier this year following proceedings at the Bombay High Court. While reports suggested a financial settlement of around Rs 4 crore, this figure was never officially confirmed by either party.

Dhanashree, in a reality show named 'Rise and Fall', however, attempted to take a veiled dig at Yuzvendra Chahal about the alimony row with her explanation. 

"Just because I am not saying anything, you will go on saying anything? My parents have taught me to only justify to people whom I care about. Why waste time explaining those who don’t even know you?" Dhanashree said at the show.

Nevertheless, the ex-couple parted in March 2025, with Chahal now allegedly finding his interest in popular Instagram influencer and anchor RJ Mahvash.
