Services bowlers Arjun Sharma and Mohit Jangra decimated Assam batting line-up in the Elite Group C match of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season. Both Arjun and Mohit picked up a hat-trick each in the first Assam innings on Day 1 of the match at the Tinsukia District Sports Association Ground.
While Arjun Sharma picked up the first hat-trick and subsequently snared a sensational five-wicket haul, Mohit Jangra mopped up the Assam tail with his three-fer.
Hat-tricks galore for Services in Ranji Trophy game
Services fast bowler Arjun Sharma and left-arm spinner Mohit Jangra picked up a hat-trick each against Assam in Tinsukia during their Elite Group C match of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season. Arjun picked up the first hat-trick of the match after Assam reached 45-2 in 11 overs.
The spinner started off by dismissing Assam’s senior pro and Indian international Riyan Parag, before getting rid of Sumit Ghadigaonkar and Sibsankar Roy for ducks. Arjun Sharma also trapped Swarupam Purkayastha and Akash Sengupta in the innings to claim sensational figures of 5-46 in his 6.2 overs.
A brief 46-run partnership later, Jangra picked up his hat-trick with the wickets of a well-set half-centurion Pradyun Saikia and tailenders Mukhtar Hussain and Bhargab Lahkar to claim figures of 3-5 from his four overs.
Their collective efforts helped Services skittle the entire Assam line-up for just 103 in 17.2 overs on the first morning of the match.
As it turned out, Services batters failed to complement Arjun Sharma and Mohit Jangra’s hat-tricks as they were bundled out for just 108 off 29.1 overs in response to manage a five-run lead. Riyan Parag hogged the limelight with the ball for Assam by picking up a five-fer of his own, claiming figures of 5-25. Rahul Singh also snared four as 20 wickets have fallen so far in just the first 47 overs of the match.
