In a heated battle between LSG and PBKS in IPL 2025, Rishabh Pant reportedly yelled at LSG bowler Avesh Khan for not following his plans. However, the furious outburst backfired as the bowler ended up leaking 57 runs in his 4 overs.

The star of the match was Prabhsimran Singh, who played a brilliant innings of 91 runs from 48 balls. With his muscle-power hitting, PBKS amassed a humongous total of 236/5 after being asked to bat first.

In reply, LSG managed 199/7, falling short despite their efforts and losing the game by 37 runs.

Rishabh Pant-Avesh Khan Feud Sinks LSG

One of the key moments of the match came during the 18th over of PBKS' innings. LSG captain Rishabh Pant got visibly angry at pacer Avesh Khan for not sticking to the team’s bowling plan.

Avesh started the over by giving away a four with a reverse ramp by Shashank Singh and then bowled a wide. Pant, who was already frustrated with how the bowlers were leaking runs, was seen shouting instructions and urging Avesh to stick to the strategy.

Things, however, got worse for Avesh when Prabhsimran Singh hit 2 sixes and a four in the same over. The fast bowler ended his spell with 0 wickets for 57 runs in 4 overs.

Pant’s own form as a batter is nothing close to satisfactory. The INR 27 crore worth player has scored 128 runs in 11 games, with an abysmal average of 12.80.

Can LSG Still Qualify For Playoffs?

After a heavy 37-run defeat to the Punjab Kings, LSG’s playoff hopes in IPL 2025 are hanging by a thread. Currently 7th with 10 points, they will need to win all 3 of their remaining games, against RCB, GT, and SRH, to get to 16 points. Additionally, they need favourable results in other games, including MI beating PBKS and GT, and CSK and SRH defeating DC and KKR. Only then can LSG manage an entry into the top four.
