After a forgettable season last year, the Delhi Capitals made a remarkable bounceback under Axar Patel’s captaincy. However, after a string of clinical victories, they faced consecutive setbacks in their last two matches.
Chasing a playoff spot, Delhi Capitals batter Karun Nair believes the key to a strong comeback lies in playing with freedom and confidence.
Karun Nair Spills Beans On Their Playoff Dream
The cricket world has been stunned by the Delhi Capitals' performance. Since the beginning of the tournament, the Capitals have dominated the opponent throughout. But the tide turned as they faced two consecutive defeats in the last two matches against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
With 12 points under their belt, Delhi Capitals are gearing up for a crucial clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Ahead of the match, Karun Nair emphasised Delhi Capitals must embrace a fearless approach if they want to secure a playoff spot.
“It's about winning moments in the game. We've been doing that really well in most of the games that we've played, and are sitting in a decent position. But having said that, we need to go out there and play with a lot of freedom,” Nair said.
“We've had a bit of a break just to have a reset. So we've had time as a team to go back to the things that we were doing well. It's about peaking at the right time,” he added.
Will DC Extend Their Dominance Or Can SRH Derail Their Run?
Under Axar Patel’s leadership, the cricket world experienced a whole new version of the Delhi Capitals. Dominating form, balanced squad, and remarkable execution have been the reasons for their dominance.
But they are still at least four points away from their playoffs dream. As they are set to face the Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Capitals will be eyeing to secure crucial two points to keep their IPL 2025 hopes alive.
SRH sit at 9th on the table with just six points, making a playoff spot a distant dream. A win against DC could shake things up, complicating the latter's playoffs hopes and pushing their fate to a must-win clash against PBKS.
