Punjab Kings (PBKS) posted a gigantic total of 236 on the board after 20 overs, courtesy of their opener, Prabhsimran Singh, who scored a magnificent 91. On the way, the right-handed batter banged seven massive sixes off just 48 deliveries alongside six boundaries.

Prabhsimran Singh Enters The Record Books Alongside Punjab Stalwarts

The right-handed opening batter, Prabhsimran Singh, opened the innings alongside Priyansh Arya, who was dismissed early. However, the former did not lose hope and went on to play an unbelievable knock of 91 off just 48 deliveries, where he went after the bowlers right from the start. However, he was dismissed in the 19th over, but helped Punjab reach 236 by the end of their innings.

Prabhsimran's innings consisted of seven maximums where he went after Digvesh Rathi, Mayank Yadav, Prince Yadav and Avesh Khan. To support Prabhsimran, skipper Shreyas Iyer also played a brilliant hand of 45 from 25 deliveries while Shashank Singh's 33* came off 25 balls, helping them achieve a massive total.

On the way to his 91, Prabhsimran's seven sixes became an IPL record as he is now the third-highest six hitter in an IPL innings at Dharamshala, whereas Punjab's former skipper Adam Gilchrist and swashbuckling big hitter, Liam Livingstone both stay at the top with nine sixes each.

Gilchrist achieved the feat back in 2011 against RCB, where he scored a magnificent 106 off 55 balls, batting at a strike rate of 192.72, as Punjab won comfortably by 111 runs. Whereas Livingstone did the same against Delhi Capitals in 2023, where he thumped 94 off 48 balls but couldn't save his side from losing the game by 15 runs.
