Rishabh Pant sustained a nasty injury while batting in the first Indian innings on Day 1 of the fourth Test against England. Rajat Patidar has been reportedly ruled out of the 2025 Duleep Trophy season. In other news, the schedule of the CPL 2025 season has been updated by CWI.

Rishabh Pant Carried Off The Field Due To Injury On Day 1

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant suffered a nasty injury on Day 1 of the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford in Manchester. When the cricketer reached 37* off 48 balls during the final session of the day, he sustained a blow on his foot while attempting an unconventional reverse sweep off fast bowler Chris Woakes. Pant subsequently complained of severe pain and was attended by Team India physio.

He was even stretchered off the field, prompting Ravindra Jadeja to replace him in the middle. With Pant’s 37*, and half-centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and comeback man Sai Sudharsan, Team India reached 264-4 by stumps.

Rajat Patidar Set To Miss Duleep Trophy 2025

RCB captain and Madhya Pradesh batter Rajat Patidar will likely miss the upcoming 2025 season of Duleep Trophy. The cricketer is yet to recover from the hand injury he sustained during the IPL 2025 season a couple of months ago. 

According to a TOI report, Patidar is currently rehabilitating from his hand and heel injuries. As he continues to participate in Madhya Pradesh’s off-season training camp, the BCCI medical team has advised the 32-year-old to take a rest in a bid to attain full fitness ahead of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season.

CPL 2025 Schedule Revamped By CWI

Cricket West Indies (CWI) and CPL T20 have unveiled an updated schedule for the upcoming CPL 2025 season. While the cricket board released an itinerary earlier this year, the updated schedule features minor adjustments to match timings, specifically for the middle phase of the tournament.

As per the revised itinerary, the CPL 2025 season will run from August 14 till September 21 across seven Caribbean venues. The Saint Lucia Kings franchise will start out as defending champions.

SA20 Franchises Lock Pre-Signings, Retentions For Season 4

SA20 franchises have locked in their share of pre-signings and player retentions for the upcoming fourth edition of SA20. All franchises also completed their wildcard signings, with the likes of Heinrich Klaasen, Kagiso Rabada, Andre Russell and Marco Jansen set to reprise their roles for Durban’s Super Giants, MI Cape Town, Pretoria Capitals and Sunrisers Eastern Cape respectively.

As many as 84 slots are still available to be filled at the SA20 2025-26 auction, scheduled to be organized on September 9 this year in Johannesburg.

BCCI Agrees To Attend Asia Cup 2025 Meeting

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly agreed to attend the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting in Dhaka on Thursday, July 24. Earlier, several reports indicated that the Indian board will be ditching the meeting in the Bangladeshi capital, owing to the prevailing political turmoil in the country. One of the primary agendas of the ACC meeting is to determine the fate of the 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup, scheduled to be played later this year.
