RCB Responds To Murali Karthik's 'Someone's Trash...' Remarks For Yash Dayal

Former India left-arm spinner Murali Kartik's on-air remarks against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer Yash Dayal were lambasted by the popular franchise on Monday (March 25) during their IPL 2024 home clash.

As the Faf du Plessis-led side took on visitors Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their second game of the tournament, Kartik's curious means to praise Dayal's fantastic outing with the ball fell flat on the commentator's face as he took reference to his struggles during IPL 2023 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and used the word "trash".

Since Dayal's previous franchise Gujarat Titans (GT) ended up releasing the left-arm pacer soon after he conceded five sixes in an over to extravagant powerhitter Rinku Singh but RCB showed faith in him and he paid it back, Kartik said, "someone's trash is someone's treasure".

The remarks with the word "trash" didn't go down well with the RCB set-up as their popular comedian and YouTuber Danish Sait, who plays the role of 'Mr Nags', gave the commentator flak. Sait hammered the comments made on-air against Bangalore's bowling match-winner on the night, with Dayal going for figures of 1/23 off his 4 overs in a high-scoring thriller.

Later on, the RCB franchise praised Dayal with a post, taking a subtle dig at Kartik for his poor referencing as the commentator failed to give the pacer's exploits against PBKS their due and recalled his expensive over and release by the KKR franchise for no reason and context to on-field play.

Dayal's spell allowed RCB to restrict PBKS to a manageable score of 176/6 in the first half when they could've elevated themselves to a more imposing total in the first half. The popular side eventually won with four balls remaining at the end
