Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has pinpointed New Zealand's Rachin Ravindra and South Africa's Gerald Coetzee as his top picks for the upcoming IPL 2024 auction.

New Zealand sensation, Rachin Ravindra has caught Ashwin's eye following his exceptional performance in the ICC World Cup 2023. The southpaw made an unforgettable entrance into the international circuit, scoring a century against England in his first World Cup match.

The 23-year-old prodigy ended the tournament as one of the top five run-scorers, scoring a remarkable 578 runs, including three centuries. This feat tied him with Kane Williamson for the most runs scored by a New Zealander in a single World Cup. Besides his batting, Ravindra has also shown his mettle as a left-arm spinner, taking 5 wickets during the tournament.

Ashwin praised Ravindra for his ability to handle pressure and his versatile skills, saying, "578 runs at an average of 64 bowling a bit of off left-arm spin orthodox. Can open the batting. He is a tearaway fast bowler from South Africa. I spoke about Rachin, but what stands out really is that South Africans and New Zealanders are sought-after commodities in the IPL auctions. And Gerald Coetzee, I think, will be a sought-after commodity and might go for a decent amount of money in this mini-auction. Tear away fast bowler, a big lad, bowls in excess of 145-150, bowls aggressive bouncers, and can hit a mean ball. Got a lot of power with the bat.
