On October 29, India Women defeated New Zealand by 6 wickets in the third ODI, clinching the series 2-1 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. In the post-match conference, Harmanpreet Kaur emphasized that they were determined to win the series at any cost. It was a complete team effort to overcome the formidable Kiwis. However, one player stood out with exceptional performances in both fielding and bowling.
In a video released by the BCCI, Harmanpreet Kaur and her teammates, along with head coach Amol Muzumdar and fielding coach Munish Bali, were seen celebrating the series win. They also announced the best impact player of the series from a pool of six nominees competing for the coveted award. The Women in Blue held a “medal hunt” to reveal the winner, which turned out to be Radha Yadav, who has been in sensational form throughout the series.
Radha Yadav took two remarkable catches and delivered her career-best bowling figures, showcasing her athleticism in the second ODI.
In a stunning display, Radha made a diving catch to her right to dismiss Georgia Plimmer, who departed after a well-made 41 off 50 balls. Later in the match, Radha demonstrated her acrobatic skills again with another breathtaking catch at cover. Brooke Halliday attempted to clear the 30-yard circle but failed, and Radha sprinted after the ball, taking another incredible catch with a full-length dive.
Her standout skills earned her the award, as she claimed 7 wickets in 3 innings with an impressive economy of 5.51 throughout the series.
