Ashwin also stated that he will now explore the game in “various T20 leagues” around the world. The 38-year-old had also announced his retirement from international cricket late last year.
Ravichandran Ashwin played 221 matches during his IPL career, and was part of an IPL-winning side twice, both for CSK back in 2010 and 2011. He racked up a monumental collection of 187 wickets in his IPL profile, and also aggregated 833 runs with the bat.
Mohammed Shami Confirms Getting Dropped For Asia Cup 2025
Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami has confirmed that he was dropped from the Indian team by BCCI for the upcoming 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup. With general fans perceiving Shami’s exclusion from the tournament as a consequence of some fitness concern, Shami dismissed any such notions by confirming that he is already fit enough to play the forthcoming 2025 Duleep Trophy season in India. The 35-year-old last played international cricket for India earlier this year during his team’s triumphant run in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.

The cricketer will now be joining his teammates at the BCCI Centre of Excellence to undergo routine fitness assessment tests from the BCCI ahead of the upcoming 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup, as reported by the Times of India. Shubman Gill recently toured England as captain of the Indian Test team, leading them to a fighting 2-2 draw. He was subsequently rewarded with a promotion in India’s T20I set-up by getting appointed as team’s new vice-captain.
Rashid Khan To Lead As AFG Name Tri-Series Squad
Rashid Khan will continue to lead the Afghanistan team in the upcoming T20I tri-series in the UAE. Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed a 15-player squad for the Afghanistan team on August 27, i.e., just a couple of days prior to the series opener at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah.
