Abrar Ahmed Back, Will Shaheen Afridi Play? Pakistan's Strongest XI For 2nd Test Vs Bangladesh

After incurring a heavy ten-wicket defeat in the first Test against Bangladesh, Pakistan are gearing up for the all-important decider at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Led by Shan Masood, the hosts were comprehensively outplayed by the Bangla Tigers in the series opener.

So, given this encounter's importance, Pakistan will field their best combination, as a loss will lead them to an embarrassing home series defeat.

The Pakistan Cricket Board recently made some modifications to their squad, bringing Abrar Ahmed, Aamir Jamal and Kamran Ghulam back into the mix.

So, as we inch towards the second Test, let's analyse and find out what Pakistan's strongest playing XI could be for the high-voltage affair.

Pakistan should bring Abrar Ahmed for 2nd Test

Saim Ayub, who struck a flamboyant fifty in the first innings of the first Test, will continue to open the batting alongside Abdullah Shafique.

Skipper Shan Masood should bat at his preferred number three position, followed by his predecessor, Babar Azam, at four.

Pakistan's newly appointed vice-captain Saud Shakeel should be slotted at five, as he has been phenomenal at that position.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan, who slammed a belligerent hundred in the opening Test, will bat at six and don the keeper's hat.

Despite failing with bat and ball, Agha Salman might get another opportunity to prove himself in this Test. However, considering the spin-friendly conditions in Rawalpindi, the hosts will likely replace Mohammad Ali with Abrar Ahmed.

Shaheen Afridi has also rejoined the setup and will play this do-or-die clash. Thus, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Khurram Shahzad will likely play as the three seamers.
