Pakistan have suffered another setback as they have now restricted the Champions Trophy tour to just three major cities - Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) raised objection in front of ICC over PCB using the areas of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) on their Champions Trophy tour.

On Thursday, PCB in a post on X stated: “Get ready, Pakistan! The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 trophy tour kicks off in Islamabad on 16 November, also visiting scenic travel destinations like Skardu, Murree, Hunza and Muzaffarabad. Catch a glimpse of the trophy which Sarfaraz Ahmed lifted in 2017 at The Oval, from 16-24 November.”

However, this didn't go down well with BCCI as Jay Shah, the Board secretary and the upcoming ICC chief lodged a complain to ICC about the same.

“BCCI secretary Shah has objected to the PCB’s idea to hold a Champions Trophy tour in PoK. The BCCI has no problem if the tour is conducted in any other city of Pakistan or even in a stadium outside PoK or in a mall. But they cannot hold it in PoK,” a BCCI official told The Indian Express on Friday.

India say no to Pakistan travel

India have officially said no to their Pakistan travel for the upcoming Champions Trophy. The Indian government denied the team to travel to Pakistan, citing security reasons.

However, this has not gone well with PCB as they have asked ICC to intervene in this matter. Moreover, PCB are also mulling off pulling out of the Champions Trophy if India don't come to their nation for the mega event.

India are adamant on the Hybrid Model and have not ruled out on the possibility of having the entire event taking place in their own country.
