In a phenomenal achievement, Sanju Samson surpassed the likes of MS Dhoni, KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant to register a massive batting feat in T20 Internationals. The experienced batter from Kerala had a memorable outing in the decider of the four-match T20I series against South Africa, slamming a blistering hundred at the iconic Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

Samson Shatters KL And Ishan's Record

Opening the batting for India, Samson stunned the Proteas with his scintillating stroke play, hammering a belligerent 56-ball 109* with the help of six fours and nine sixes. This was Samson's fourth fifty-plus score as a designated wicketkeeper in T20Is.

He eclipsed Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul to record the most number of fifty-plus scores by a wicketkeeper for India. It's worth mentioning that Samson is placed higher than MS Dhoni and Rishabh Pant, scripting his name as India's most successful keeper-batter in the shortest format.

In response, South Africa were bundled out for a paltry 148-run total, losing the game by a whopping margin of 135 runs. Arshdeep Singh starred with the ball for India, registering a clinical three-wicket haul.
