Sri Lankan opener Pathum Nissanka fought back for the hosts with a majestic 187 from 256 balls, sharing 157 runs for the second wicket with half-centurion and senior man Dinesh Chandimal. Outbound Angelo Mathews received a grand ‘Guard of Honour’ from Bangladesh before he was toppled by Mominul Haque for 39.

ECB Officially Rebrand ENG Vs IND Series To Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has officially rebranded the Pataudi Trophy to Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy, doing so just a day prior to the launch of England’s home Test series against India in Leeds. The board unveiled the trophy and organised a photo session with both, former cricketers Sachin Tendulkar and James Anderson. The ECB also clarified that the legacy of Iftikhar Ali Khan Pataudi will still carry on, as the winning captain of the series will be awarded a ‘Pataudi Medal’.

Shubman Gill Confesses To Seeking Tips From Rohit, Virat Kohli

India’s newly-appointed Test captain Shubman Gill has confessed to taking tips from his predecessors and recently-retired legendary batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Gill, who was named India’s new captain, was assigned the high-profile role last month after Sharma and Kohli confirmed their exits from the game. Gill’s first assignment as Test captain will be to lead Team India in a five-match series in England, starting from June 20 onwards in Leeds.

WI Women Captain Hayley Matthews To Undergo Surgery

West Indies women captain Hayley Matthews is to set to undergo surgery after she sustained a shoulder injury in England earlier this month. The charismatic all-rounder is currently on course to miss some high-profile tournaments in the coming months. Notably, after her injury against England, Matthews did return for the home series against South Africa. However, trouble still lingers for the all-rounder as she will now be eying her return to competitive cricket in 2026.

Monank Patel Pulls Off Record MLC Chase For MI New York

MI New York pipped Seattle Orcas by seven wickets with an over to spare in a chase of 201 runs in match number nine of the MLC 2025 season. Orcas batted first and mounted 200-5 from 20 overs courtesy of Kyle Mayers’ explosive 46-ball 88, with blistering cameos from Heinrich Klaasen and Shimron Hetmyer.
