Batting first at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Indians mounted 215-7 from 20 overs courtesy of splendid half-centuries from opening batter Ryan Rickelton and middle-order star Suryakumar Yadav. In response, LSG folded up for just 161 at the end of their 20 overs. Jasprit Bumrah (4-22) and Trent Boult (3-20) picked up seven wickets between them to run through LSG’s batting line-up as Mumbai Indians made a significant leap on the IPL 2025 points table.
RCB Jump To The Top By Upstaging Delhi Capitals
RCB jumped to the top of the IPL 2025 points table by defeating Delhi Capitals in Delhi in match 46 of the IPL 2025 season. The hosts batted first and listed 162-8, with KL Rahul top-scoring in the innings through his sluggish 39-ball 41. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up figures of 3-33 while Josh Hazlewood dismissed the likes of Abishek Porel and Axar Patel in his four-over spell.
Chasing 163, RCB slipped to 26-3 in four overs, losing three of their top four batters. Virat Kohli subsequently belted 51 runs from 47 balls and shared a match-defining 119-run partnership with unbeaten Krunal Pandya (73* off 47). Tim David bludgeoned three boundaries and a six in his five-ball 19* towards the end as RCB secured a comprehensive win in 18.3 overs.

RCB teammates Virat Kohli and Josh Hazlewood won the ‘Orange Cap’ and ‘Purple Caps’ of the ongoing IPL 2025 season respectively, taking over the coveted title from Suryakumar Yadav and Prasidh Krishna. Kohli has now tallied 443 runs from 10 innings this season with a prolific average of 63.28, finding himself just 16 runs ahead of second-placed Suryakumar. Hazlewood picked up two wickets against Delhi Capitals to extend his tally to 18 wickets from 10 innings.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar Becomes IPL’s Second Highest Wicket-Taker
RCB fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up impressive figures of 3-33 against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Through the course of his spell, Kumar became the second highest wicket-taker in IPL history, surpassing Piyush Chawla in the process. The Indian speedster now sits on a pile of 193 wickets from 185 innings with an impressive bowling average of 27.01. Piyush Chawla, meanwhile, is ranked third on the list with 192 wickets from 191 innings.
The elite list is still spearheaded by cunning spinner Yuzvendra Chahal with 214 wickets in just 167 innings. Chahal is currently playing for the Punjab Kings franchise this IPL 2025 season.
India Women Win Tri-Series Opener
India Women crushed their Sri Lankan counterparts by nine wickets in the opening match of the ODI Women’s tri-series in Colombo. Sri Lanka batted first and folded up for just 147 in a 39-overs-a-side game. For India, spinners Deepti Sharma (2-22), Shree Charani (2-26) and Sneh Rana (3-31) picked up seven wickets between them after the opening breakthrough inflicted by fast bowler Arundhati Reddy.
Chasing 148, opening batter Pratika Rawal composed 50 unbeaten runs from 62 balls, and shared a quick 54-run stand with senior partner Smriti Mandhana. Harleen Deol at number three also made 48* as India overcame Sri Lanka in just 29.4 overs.
