Mumbai Indians crushed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 54 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in match number 45 of the IPL 2025 season. The outcome also marked Mumbai Indians’ fifth win in succession, as Hardik Pandya and co. catapulted themselves up to number two on the IPL 2025 points table.
Captain Pandya celebrated the win by clicking an adorable selfie with scores of young fans, who attended the stadium as part of Mumbai Indians’ owner Nita Ambani’s “Education and Sports for All” initiative.

Hardik Pandya celebrated Mumbai Indians’ comprehensive win against LSG with an adorable selfie with young fans at the Wankhede Stadium. The Mumbai Indians skipper was also accompanied by franchise owner Nita Ambani, as per a post shared on social media after the win.

The match also coincided with the Mumbai Indians’ annual tradition, the Education and Sports for All (ESA) initiative. As many as 19,000 children attended the game as part of the initiative to offer them an unforgettable experience of cheering for their heroes in blue.
As it happened, Mumbai Indians batted first and mounted 215-7 from 20 overs. Opening batter Ryan Rickelton and senior middle-order star Suryakumar Yadav clubbed blistering half-centuries to top score in the innings. Naman Dhir and debutant Corbin Bosch also smeared swift cameos during the slog overs.
Chasing 216, the LSG folded up for just 161, courtesy of Jasprit Bumrah’s electrifying four-wicket haul. The speedster picked up the important wickets of Aiden Markram, David Miller and Abdul Samad during his four-over spell, while new ball operator Trent Boult claimed three wickets from his end.
