Bhuvneshwar Kumar is a legendary name in Indian T20 folklore. And today he added another feather to his cap by becoming the second-highest wicket-taker in IPL history.

The moment of glory arrived in the IPL 2025 clash between Delhi Capitals and RCB, where the 35-year-old bowled a brilliant 3/33 spell that saw him surpass Piyush Chawla to become the second-highest wicket-taker in tournament history.

Starting his journey with Pune Warriors back in 2011, Bhuvneshwar has now scalped 193 wickets in the IPL from which 157 were for Sunrisers Hyderabad, 24 for Pune Warriors, and 12 for his current team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

As we can see above, Bhuvneshwar's most successful years came with Sunrisers Hyderabad, where he won the Purple Cap twice and also lifted the title once in the year 2016. Now representing the Bengaluru franchise, Bhuvneshwar continues to do his magic with the ball, carving a legendary legacy in the IPL with every spell.

Bhuvi's Brilliance Kept Delhi On Check

Coming back to the game, after opting to bowl first, RCB restricted the Delhi Capitals to a par total of 162 in the first 20 overs. The visitors had a disciplined bowling performance throughout, keeping the DC batters quiet and taking timely wickets to keep them under pressure.
