2024 has been a year of cricketing marvels, packed with IPL 2024, bilaterals and individual series with batters across the globe smashing centuries one after the other.  As the year draws to a close, a select few have topped the chart of scoring the most centuries across all formats.

Renowned names from India, Sri Lanka, England and New Zealand have been the leading century-making charts, showcasing their exceptional batting skills and consistently delivering match-winning performances. Hence, without further ado, let's take a look at the top five century-makers of 2024 across ODI, T20 and Test matches.

Joe Root Leads The Century Making Charts

Joe Root, the formidable English batter, has continued to showcase his dominance in 2024, accumulating centuries with impressive consistency. He has scored 1,338 runs in the 14 matches he has played this year. Whether in traditional Test matches or shorter formats, Root has proven to be a dependable player for England.

Kamindu Mendis has been a rising Test star for Sri Lanka in the year 2024 as he also became the first player to win the ICC Men's Player of the Month award twice. With his fifth Test century, he became the fastest Asian batter to reach this feat, equalling the legendary Don Bradman's record of achieving five Test centuries in just 13 innings. The Sri Lankan batter has scored 1345 runs in the 30 matches he has played this year.

In the fourth Test against England at The Oval, Pathum Nissanka etched his name in cricketing history by scoring a brilliant century in the fourth innings. Nissanka also became the first Sri Lankan cricketer to score a double century in ODI cricket as he amassed a total of 1436 runs in the 36 innings he has played.

Sanju Samson showed his fireworks in the T20I series against South Africa and became the first Indian batter to score consecutive T20I centuries in a single series. The Kerala wicketkeeper-batter has garnered a total of 436 runs in the 12 innings he has played.

The fifth player on the chart is Kiwi veteran Kane Williamson, who scored his 30th Test century against South Africa in Mount Maunganui. The calm and composed cricketer has amassed a total of 729 runs in the 17 innings he has played this year across all formats.
