Sanju Samson's promotion at the top of the order is turning out to be a masterstroke from the Indian team management as the man has now hit three T20I centuries. He is now the first man in history to slam three tons in one calendar year and all of them have come in the span of just five innings.

Sanju Samson hit his maiden T20I century against Bangladesh in Hyderabad and then followed it up with another century in the first T20I against South Africa in Durban. It was followed by two consecutive ducks, but in the fourth T20I, he once again displayed his class and hit unbeaten 109 off just 56 balls. His maiden century was a knock of 111 of 47 balls while against South Africa in the first T20I, he smashed 107 off 50 balls.

Samson Surpasses KL Rahul In T20I Centuries List

Overall, he is now third in the list of most centuries by an Indian in T20Is, with Rohit Sharma topping the list with five centuries. At number second is Suryakumar Yadav with four centuries while Tilak Varma and KL Rahul have two centuries each.

Sanju Samson is surely going from strength to strength now, and after a long wait for regular chances in the Indian team, it looks like he has finally made it at the international level. Along with Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma also broke plenty of records in the fourth T20I against South Africa in Johannesburg and became just the second Indian after Sanju Samson to hit two consecutive T20I hundreds. Their partnership of 210 is the highest for India for any wicket against any country and it turned out to be a record-shattering night in Johannesburg with India posting 283 on the board.
