We have seen players taking their game to a different level in this format by smashing centuries in less than 50 deliveries. On Tuesday, Pakistan batter, Saim Ayub etched his name in the history books as he slammed a 53-ball century against Zimbabwe to seal the win for his side. This was the joint third fastest hundred in ODIs for Pakistan cricket.

In a rain-affected ODI match, Sharjeel batted aggressively as he scored a ton and Pakistan posted 337 runs. In the match, Sharjeel scored 152 runs off 86 deliveries.

4) Shahid Afridi – 53 balls vs Bangladesh, 2010

Shahid Afridi will come a lot more in this list, but for now, he features at number 4. In a brutal assault against Bangladesh in 2010, he smacked a 53-ball hundred as Pakistan posted 385 in the Asia Cup encounter. He registered 124 runs, which included 17 fours and 4 sixes.

3) Saim Ayub - 53 balls vs Zimbabwe, 2024

November 26 witnessed the Saim Ayub show as the southpaw tormented a helpless Zimbabwe attack and blasted a 53-ball century. Pakistan needed 146 to win the contest, and Saim wanted to finish the game early as he remained unbeaten and helped Pakistan win the contest. The second time Shahid Afridi has featured in the list. This was an unforgettable knock against arch-rivals, India as he hammered a 45-ball ton, by smashing 10 fours and 9 sixes. The historic knock took place in Kanpur as chasing 250, Pakistan and Shahid Afridi made a mockery of the total.

When T20 cricket wasn't there, Shahid Afridi used to play this aggressive brand of cricket never seen before. He holds the record for the fastest ODI century by a Pakistan batter, as he scored a 37-ball ton Vs Sri Lanka in 1996.

The epic knock came in Nairobi and interestingly this was just his second-ever ODI match. He slammed 102 runs, including 6 fours and 11 sixes.
