After the two days of action-packed IPL mega auction, the Rajasthan Royals have managed to secure 14 players in the auction as they retained six players, including Sanju Samson, Riyan Parag, and Yashasvi Jaiswal, among others.

 The Royals made significant changes during this auction, establishing a strong Indian core for their lineup. They bolstered their batting strength and replaced Chahal and Ashwin with overseas players. RR's bid also turned heads as they roped in 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi for INR 1.10 crore, who might prove to be a potential game-changer for the team.

However, they did make a few mistakes by spending large sums of money. In their efforts to retain players, they overlooked the importance of having adequate bench strength and will be hoping for no injuries or other mishaps in the camp.

  • Moreover, spending 4.40 crore on someone with limited experience in the IPL and on Indian pitches may not be a wise choice. Instead, Rajasthan could have used its budget to strengthen its all-rounder lineup with a more valuable purchase.

2. Tushar Deshpande (INR 6.50 crore)

  • While Tushar Deshpande had a few promising moments with Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2023, his inconsistency, particularly in death overs, remains a concern. His economy rate of 8.83 last season highlights his vulnerability under pressure, which can be risky for high-stake games.
