Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 madness is at its peak ahead of the mini-auction. The auction is not happening until 19th December 2023, but rumours and speculations of all kinds have swarmed around the internet.

In the latest shocking turn of events, Mumbai Indians have traded Australian batter Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bangalore. As confirmed by RCB's social media handle on Monday, the Ambani group-owned team sent Green to RCB in an all-cash deal. As per the deal, MI received no player in return for Green.

The news is a shocker for MI fans as earlier on Sunday, Mumbai Indians retained Cameron Green to safeguard him in upcoming auctions. As the franchise dropped their list of retained players, Green featured amongst the top 5 names.

The move could be a game-changer for RCB, as their squad is highly unstable. At the retention deadline, the club released all pacers except for Mohammad Siraj. Moreover, Sri Lankan spin wizard Wanindu Hasaranga also failed to make it to the final squad.

Also, in the batting department, RCB lacks a solid middle-order batter who can anchor the innings in case of openers' downfall. Thus, Green could kill two targets with one bullet. He will not only serve as a middle-order anchor but will play the role of an all-rounder, thus providing RCB with a sixth bowling option.

As far as Mumbai Indians are concerned, they have increased their purse to INR 17.75 Crores after trading Green to RCB.
