The city of Thiruvananthapuram got dished with another dashing start from India's star-in-making Yashasvi Jaiswal, who gave the Men in Blue another power-packed start in the second T20I against Australia on Sunday.
The left-handed opener began with two boundaries off Glenn Maxwell, before taking the assault against the Aussie fast-bowling all-rounder Sean Abbott.
In the fourth over of play, Jaiswal creamed two consecutive cut strokes, before guiding Abbott to third man for another boundary to make it three on three. He then pulled the Aussie seamer for two monstrous biggies, however, he missed making it count on the last ball of the over.
In the last over of the powerplay, the Rajasthan Royals opener smoked three more boundaries off Nathan Ellis to get to his maiden half-century in T20Is. However, he was outclassed by Ellis in the same over as he perished on 53 after doing the damage in 25 balls he played.
Meanwhile, Jaiswal's partner Ruturaj Gaikwad also did his job to perfection, giving back the strike to the explosive southpaw and putting the bad balls the CSK batter was getting.
At the time of writing, India have got a flying start with the scoreboard reading 77/1 at the end of the batting powerplay.
