Fans on social media fell to a new low, abusing Rachin Ravindra after he hit winning runs against MI in the third fixture of the IPL 2025 season. Instagram users targeted Rachin for not giving MS Dhoni the strike in the final over, thus depriving him of an opportunity to finish the game.

CSK beat MI in the third match of the IPL 2025 season by four wickets. MI had a disappointing show in the first inning, putting together just 155 runs at the loss of 9 wickets. Noor Ahmad bowled a brilliant spell, picking up four wickets for CSK.

Khaleel Ahmed also picked three wickets to destroy MI’s momentum. However, Rachin Ravindra’s half-century in the second inning stole the game away from Mumbai.

MS Dhoni Fans Hurl Abuses On Rachin Ravindra’s Social Media

Rachin Ravindra hit 65* off 45 balls to anchor CSK’s chase and take his team through the finish in the final over. After CSK lost Ravindra Jadeja in a comical mix-up, MS Dhoni came out to bat amid a huge roar from the home crowd in Chepauk.

However, Dhoni couldn’t score any run in the two balls he faced as Rachin slammed a six on the first ball of the last over to hit winning runs for CSK. But, Dhoni fans weren’t happy with Rachin’s big hit.

They wanted to see Dhoni score the winning runs in his iconic style as he had come out to bat for CSK for the first time this IPL 2025 season. The unimpressed fans targeted Rachin on social media, filling up his Instagram comment section with abuses.

While emotions ran high, it's important to understand Rachin's intent as a young player closing out a match confidently is a positive sign for the franchise in the longer run.

With that victory, CSK has jumped to third position in the points table. They will now face RCB in their upcoming fixture on March 28 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
