The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is gearing up for its 10th edition. And ahead of the tournament, the replacement draft will take place on Monday in a virtual session, as confirmed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

PSL 10 is set to kick off on April 11, with defending champions Islamabad United facing Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The six-team competition will see 34 matches played across Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi, concluding with the grand final at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on May 18. Ahead of the season, PCB has announced a replacement draft.

PSL 10 To Have Replacement Draft After Key Players Opt Out

Several PSL franchises will be making last-minute changes to their squads due to the unavailability of key players. Hence, PCB has announced that a replacement draft will be held on Monday, March 24, through a virtual session.

Peshawar Zalmi will bring in a replacement for Nahid Rana, while Karachi Kings will fill in for Litton Das.

Additionally, Islamabad United's Rassie van der Dussen, Quetta Gladiators' Mark Chapman, and Karachi Kings' Kane Williamson will also be unavailable for part of the tournament, prompting partial replacements.

On the other hand, Peshawar Zalmi is also dealt a serious blow as Corbin Bosch has decided to leave PSL 10 for IPL 2025 with Mumbai Indians.

The decision has been controversial, and the PCB has taken Bosch to court for a violation of contract. In his defence, Bosch cited financial security and long-term career prospects as his reasons for the switch.

PSL Adamant To Compete With IPL; Likely To Add 2 New Teams

The PSL is set for a major transformation as the PCB plans to expand the tournament from six to eight teams starting from the 2026 edition. This strategic action is meant to enhance the global competitiveness of the league, particularly in the wake of the increasingly dominant IPL.

Since its inception in 2016, PSL has gained popularity but continues to trail the IPL in terms of financial strength and global reach.
