Chennai Super Kings batters Rachin Ravindra and Ravindra Jadeja had a bizarre miscommunication, resulting in an unfortunate run out. In a clash against MI in IPL 2025, both Jadeja and Rachin ran on the same end of the crease with the former falling short of his crease to get dismissed.
The mega clash between arch-rivals MI and CSK took place in the third match of the IPL 2025 season. MI batted first but Khaleel Ahmed’s three-wicket-haul and Noor Ahmad’s four-wicket-haul restricted them to 155 runs.
Moreover, CSK had a roaring start in the second inning with a 67-run partnership between Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra. Rachin took the game to the end with a sublime half-century.
Comical Run Out Sends Jadeja Packing In MI Vs CSK Mega Clash
Meanwhile, the match went until the final over with Rachin Ravindra and Jadeja on the crease. However, a dramatic confusion between Jadeja and Rachin led to an unnecessary wicket.
The unfortunate dismissal unfolded when Jadeja tapped the ball towards mid-wicket in the penultimate over and took off for a quick single.
However, miscommunication between him and Rachin saw both batters stranded at the same end, momentarily shaking hands in frustration.
MI’s Deepak Chahar displayed sharp reflexes, diving to his left and quickly relaying the ball to keeper Ryan Rickelton, who calmly dislodged the bails. However, the third umpire was summoned to check which batter fell short of its crease.
Eventually, the TV umpire adjusted Jadeja as the man to get run out as he paved the way for legend, MS Dhoni.
Meanwhile, the comical run out of Ravindra Jadeja wasn’t enough to stop CSK as Rachin hit the winning runs to guide his team to a four-wicket win. He finished with an unbeaten 65 off 45 balls.
