Marsh, Markram-Backed LSG Pip MI Despite SKY, Pandya Brilliance

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) kept Mumbai Indians down in a high-scoring IPL 2025 thriller in match number 16 at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium. Batting first, LSG openers Mitchell Marsh (60 off 31) and Aiden Markram (53 off 38) clubbed blistering half-centuries before Ayush Badoni and David Miller’s sparkling cameos pushed the hosts to 203-8 from 20 overs. For Mumbai Indians, captain Hardik Pandya snared figures of 5-36 to pick up his five-wicket haul in T20 cricket.

Chasing 204, Naman Dhir minted 46 off 24 and Suryakumar Yadav blasted 67 runs from just 43 balls in his landmark 100th IPL game for Mumbai Indians. Pandya also bludgeoned 28* off 16 but collective bowling brilliance from Shardul Thakur and co. ensured a 12-run victory for the hosts.

Rohit Sharma Injured For IPL 2025 Clash

While Mumbai Indians lost the match to the LSG by 12 runs in Lucknow, the franchise suffered a massive setback prior to the game itself in the form of an injury to senior opening batter Rohit Sharma. The former Mumbai Indians skipper was declared unfit at the toss time by skipper Hardik Pandya, as he suffered a knee injury in the lead-up to the match. Sharma is also undergoing one of the worst phases of his batting career this IPL 2025 season, having tallied just 21 runs in three innings so far.

Shaheen Afridi Makes Big PSL 2025 Claim

Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Afridi believes his team can win the upcoming PSL 2025 season. Motivating his teammates, the Pakistan fast bowler emphasized the importance of enhancing their fielding skills to become virtually “unbeatable”. The speedster said that no team can defeat Lahore Qalandars if they strengthen their fielding.

Under his leadership, the Qalandars will face defending champions Islamabad United in the opening match of the PSL 2025 season at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi on April 11.

Babar Azam To Make T20I Return: Reports

Senior Pakistan batter Babar Azam will reportedly be making his return to T20I cricket through the upcoming T20 Asia Cup 2025 later this year. The legendary cricketer was recently dropped by the PCB selection committee from the T20I section of Pakistan’s white-ball tour of New Zealand. In his absence, the ‘Men in Green’ slumped to a 1-4 drubbing to the hosts.

According to latest reports, the selection committee is now keen to bring Babar back into the T20I line-up of the Pakistan cricket team.

Punjab Announce Revised School Timings During PSL 2025

The Punjab government in Pakistan has announced a temporary change in school timings. The revised timings will be implemented in April to allow the public and private schools in the city to operate from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The move will be brought into effect in a bid to ease traffic congestion and for ensuring the safety of school children amidst heavy security and road blockages, as usually expected during PSL matches. The PSL 2025 season is scheduled to launch from April 11 onwards in Rawalpindi.
