How often do you see a batter walking out of the field despite being not out?. This is what happened in the Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians match as MI batter, Tilak Varma retired himself out as he was unable to score runs at a brisk pace in a 200-plus run-chase at the Ekana Stadium.

This was a rare moment as Tilak was batting at 25 off 23 when he decided to go off the field, seemingly retiring himself and he became the fourth player in the IPL after R Ashwin, Sai Sudharsan and Atharva Taide to get retired out. However, while he was rightly criticised for his decision, a section of Virat Kohli fans had their own agenda when bashing the MI star.

Why Kohli fans are abusing Tilak Varma?

Interestingly, after doing well for India recently, Tilak liked a reel on Instagram which stated that he is the best number 3 to play for India. The post took a sly dig at Virat Kohli, who usually bats at number 3 for the nation.

Many believed that Tilak took a dig at Kohli by liking the post and now after he failed to deliver the goods against LSG, the Kohli fans mocked him for his brain-fade moment and urged him not to compare himself with Kohli.

LSG hand MI their third loss of the tournament

LSG were out of the game when Suryakumar Yadav was going strong, however, when he got out, the tables turned as Shardul Thakur bowled a tight over and the last over required 22 runs for the win, but skipper Hardik Pandya couldn't finish the job as LSG secured a 12-run win, thus winning their second game of the season.
