Hardik Pandya, the Mumbai Indians captain sprung a surprise at the toss time as he announced that Rohit Sharma, the key MI player will miss the IPL 2025 match Vs Lucknow Super Giants due to an injury. He got hurt on Thursday during MI's final practice session and as a result, missed out on the game.

Ahead of the match between MI and LSG, a video went viral, where Rohit Sharma could be seen in some pain as he walked towards the pavilion and looked in discomfort. He was taken off the field by Mumbai Indians Assistant Physiotherapist Amit Dube, as the management played safe and wanted to take precautionary measures with Rohit.

"Ro was not available. He got hit on the knee and he won't be available tonight," Hardik Pandya stated at toss time.

How many matches will Rohit Sharma miss?

Hardik Pandya also stated that Rohit Sharma's injury doesn't look too serious and he could take a part in MI's next IPL match against the RCB team on Monday, April 7. However, MI team management might not take any unnecessary risk and could also rest him for the next match.

Who will open in place of Rohit Sharma?

In place of Rohit, Will Jacks might open alongside Ryan Rickelton. The Proteas batter had a dream match against KKR, and he could be joined by Jacks as the two overseas duo could be in charge of the opening slot in Rohit's absence against LSG.
