Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Afridi is confident of his team’s prospects ahead of the upcoming PSL 2025 season. Roughly a week prior to the launch of the competition, the senior Pakistani fast bowler motivated his troops with a sterling speech. The cricketer exemplified the importance of fielding, and urged his teammates to enhance this aspect of the game.
It is worth noting that Afridi recently toured New Zealand as part of Pakistan’s T20I squad for a five-match series. Playing four matches in the series, the 25-year-old managed to pick up just two wickets as the ‘Men in Green’ slumped to a 1-4 defeat.

Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Afridi wants his Lahore Qalandars teammates to work on their fielding in a bid to become formidable in the upcoming PSL 2025 season. In a video shared by the Qalandars franchise on social media, the cricketer can be seen claiming that his team will become virtually unbeatable if they work further towards their fielding. He said:
“If our fielding is strong, no team can defeat us. I don't know how to teach you batting and bowling, but if we put in effort in fielding, we will win.”
Under the leadership of Shaheen Afridi, the Lahore Qalandars franchise won back-to-back PSL titles back during the 2022 and 2023 editions of the tournament.
As per the PSL 2025 schedule, the Lahore Qalandars franchise will go up against defending champions Islamabad United in the opening match of the tournament.
