Mark Wood Likely To Return For 4th Test Vs India
England fast bowler Mark Wood will likely be making his return to the national line-up in time for the fourth Test against India next month. Wood was ruled out of competitive cricket for four months earlier this year after undergoing a knee surgery after the conclusion of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan and UAE earlier this year.
The fourth Test of the series between hosts England and India will be played between July 23 and July 27 at Old Trafford in Manchester.
Dewald Brevis Called Up As SA Name Squad For ZIM Series
Cricket South Africa (CSA) has named South Africa’s 16-player squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo later this month. In a youth-packed Test line-up, CSA named as many as five uncapped stars, including Dewald Brevis and Prenelan Subrayen for the series. Temba Bavuma is set to continue as captain of the South African team. The series will launch from June 28 onwards, and it will mark South Africa’s first Test assignment after the WTC 2025 final match against Australia.
Piyush Chawla Retires From International Cricket
Wily Indian leg-spinner Piyush Chawla has announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket. Having made his international debut back in 2006 as a teenager, Chawla played three Tests, 25 ODIs and seven T20I matches in his career. He was part of the Indian cricket team that lifted the 2007 T20 World Cup in South Africa and the 2011 ICC ODI Men’s World Cup in India.
Piyush Chawla also played 192 IPL games for four different franchises, and was part of KKR’s title winning unit from 2014. He will conclude his career as one of the most successful bowlers in the history of the tournament.
