Karachi Kings have signed New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert for the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024. The popular franchise confirmed the arrival of the experienced BlackCaps cricketer to Pakistan on Tuesday (February 27).

Led by Pakistan Test skipper Shan Masood, the Kings have bolstered their batting unit and provided an alternate wicketkeeping option to balance out their top 6 perfectly for the remainder of their PSL 2024 campaign after a scratchy start to their season.

Seifert brings with him an explosive top-order batting option who can be safe with the gloves. The BlackCaps maverick, who recently came back from injury to play in New Zealand's T20I outfit during the series against Australia, will be travelling to Pakistan on the back of his impressive track record.

The 29-year-old has scored 1,206 runs in 57 T20Is for New Zealand at a strike-rate touching 135 while plundering over 4,000 runs in his overall domestic T20 career, being a journeyman cricketer who has plied his trade in various leagues around the world.

The Kings would be hoping for Seifert to prove to be a fruitful signing for them as the franchise gears up for a set of big matches coming up during the season.

Masood & company are placed fourth in the PSL 2024 points table with two wins and a solitary defeat after three matches and will be taking on Islamabad United on Wednesday (February 28).

The Kings face-up against former champions Quetta Gladiators on the very next day at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore in what is a strenuous PSL schedule for each of the six franchises due to time constraints and a contracted window for the tournament's ninth edition.
