As in-form wristspinner Kuldeep Yadav made England batters dance to his tunes in the game-transforming third innings of the Ranchi Test, he earned effusive praise from former opener Virender Sehwag, who underlined the man's understated figure in Indian cricket's hierarchy.

Sehwag was thrilled for the rising young bowler, who recorded astonishing figures of 4/22, which were bettered only by great off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin after the legend's magnificent spell of 5 for 51 in a pivotal bowling act for Team India.

Together, Ashwin and Kuldeep fashioned the English downfall as they couldn't extend their first-innings lead of 46 into something truly substantial. The spin duo set up a chase of 192 for India to clinch their third consecutive win of the five-Test series and take an unassailable 3-1 lead.

Sehwag Praises Kuldeep After 4 For 22

"When it comes to hype, one of the least hyped guys is Kuldeep Yadav. Been exceptional for many years, but never got an online fan club or people to hype him as the next big thing. Deserves a lot more credit and hype than he gets," Sehwag tweeted on Sunday (February 25).

Kuldeep's marathon and potentially match-winning burst of 15 overs was his second successive game-transforming spell of the series after his initial spell on Day 3 of the Rajkot Test swung the momentum India's way.

Moments after Kuldeep finished with figures of 4 for 22, he was praised wholeheartedly by Sehwag, who urged India's passionate cricket fans to give the man the much-deserved hype and praise.

Kuldeep has been terrific since his comeback into India's playing XI after he replaced the out-of-form Axar Patel for the second Test in Vizag and taken 12 wickets in three Tests of the series at an average of just 22.58.
