A deadly poisonous snake entered the field, causing an interruption in the ongoing LPL 2023 encounter between Galle Titans and Dambulla Aura at the iconic R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The scary incident, occurred right after the fourth over, grabbed the attention of fans across the globe, raising serious questions on the security offered at the venue.

After the fourth over of Dambulla's innings concluded, a snake was seen crawling its way into the ground, creating a sense of panic among the players as well as the match officials. However, fortunately, it didn't enter the playing area and spent quite a few minutes alongside the boundary before leaving the ground.

While some fans found the incident exciting, some others lashed out at the security personnel, raising serious questions on their capability.

Regarding the game, Dambulla Aura, after opting to bowl, couldn't put up an impressive performance, as Galle Titans posted a challenging total of 180 runs in 20 overs.

While Shevon Daniel and Bhanuka Rajapaksa set the tone for a defendable total, Dasun Shanaka was the wrecker-in-chief with the bat for the Titans, ensuring a fitting finish for his side with a quick-fire 42-run cameo.

In response, Dambulla Aura are 74 for two, with Dhananjaya de Silva and Kusal Perara batting on 29* and 40*, respectively.
