England's most-coveted and legendary bowler, James Anderson, famously known as Jimmy will be bidding adieu to his 22-year long career this summer as per reports.

As per a detailed report shared by The Guardian, England's head coach Brendon McCullum travelled all the way to UK from New Zealand to meet with James Anderson and to discuss the Test team's future for the upcoming season.

England will lockhorns with West Indies and Sri Lanka in 6 Tests over the course of summer. It has been understood that Anderson will be playing his last game against Sri Lanka at his home ground, Old Trafford.

As England steps into a new era, they hope to build a seam attack for the next Ashes series slated to take place in the winter of 2025-26, and by that time he would be 43 years old. Although, Anderson's commitment towards his country speaks volumes of the kind of player he is, it is practically impossible for his fans to expect him to play that long.

Back in 2023, his partner in crime Stuart Broad announced his retirement from international cricket. This coming summer, Anderson might want to end his career at a high note receiving a warm farewell at his home-ground, much-like Broad.

Anderson is the first seamer to scalp 700 Test wickets, and third overall, in the fifth Test match between England and India in March. SL's Muttiah Muralitharan holds the number 1 spot with his 800 wickets from 133 Tests and then Australia's Shane Warne who comes in at number two with 708 wickets.
