Tushar Deshpande was the lone shining light in CSK's horrendous bowling performance against the Gujarat Titans.

The CSK speedster grabbed Sai Sudharsan, and followed it up with the all-important wicket of Shubman Gill to pull things back for his side. Both Sudharsan and Gill made a mockery of the CSK bowling unit and eventually reached their respective centuries. At one stage, it looked like GT will post a total in excess of 250.

However, Deshpande's twin strikes changed the momentum of the game. Gill reached his century and looked set to finish things off in style. But Deshpande, who has been outstanding with the ball in IPL 2024, delivered the goods with a briliant bouncer. Gill failed to keep his pull shot down and found the fielder in the deep.

Deshpande Gets Gill!

The GT skipper looked dejected, and had to walk out of the field. The duo shattered many IPL records, and also equalled the record of the highest runs scored for the opening wicket (210) by a batting pair.

The Gujarat Titans finished at 231/3. Chasing the total, CSK were off to a worse possible start as the 5-time champions lost 3 wickets for just 10 runs on the board.
