Jasprit Bumrah To Be Rested For Asia Cup 2025: Report

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) might reportedly rest ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah from India’s squad for the upcoming 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup in the UAE. While speaking with the PTI, a BCCI source prioritized Bumrah’s Test career instead, and stated that India’s home series against New Zealand next year will rather serve as his 2026 T20 World Cup dress rehearsal.

Bumrah was also rested from the Indian playing XI for a couple of matches in the ongoing five-match Test series in England. The Indian team is scheduled to face UAE on September 10 in Dubai in their opening match of the 2025 Asia Cup.

However, according to an Economic Times report, there is no such plan of organizing a cricket match at the Wankhede Stadium at the time.
