South Africa Champions won the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 title by defeating table-toppers Pakistan Champions in the final. Captain AB de Villiers headlined South Africa’s emphatic win by plundering his third century of the tournament.

Here, we take a look at the entire highlights of the final of the WCL 2025, as it panned out at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Saturday, August 2.

Sharjeel Khan Drives Pakistan Champions To 195

Pakistan Champions opener Sharjeel Khan launched nine fours and four huge sixes in his 44-ball 76 despite losing Kamran Akmal and captain Mohammad Hafeez early in the innings. Umar Amin at number five smeared a fiery 36* off 19 balls to turbo-charge the innings in the slog overs. Asif Ali also provided the death-overs impetus with his 15-ball 28 as Pakistan charted 195-5.

For South Africa Champions, fast bowlers Hardus Viljoen (2-38) and Wayne Parnell (2-32) picked up two wickets each in the Pakistani innings upfront.

AB de Villiers Devours Pakistan With 47-Ball Ton

Chasing 196, South Africa Champions lost vintage opener Hashim Amla to ace Pakistani spinner Saeed Ajmal at the end of the powerplay overs for just 18. Forming forces at 72-1 at the start of the seventh over, fellow opener Ab de Villiers and number three JP Duminy forged an electric 125-run unbroken partnership for the second wicket to bolt South Africa Champions to a comprehensive victory.

Captain Villiers clattered 12 fours and seven huge sixes, brought up a 47-ball hundred before reaching 120* off just 60 balls, thus notching up his third century of the tournament. Duminy also made his presence felt with a swift 28-ball 50*, laced with four fours and two sixes as South Africa Champions won the 2025 WCL title.
