India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was criticised for his performance in the second innings of almost every Test match on the England tour, but the youngster responded with a majestic century to put India in the driving seat on Day 3 of the Oval Test. This was his sixth Test century, and second of the series.
His hundred has helped India strengthen their position in the Test match, as the visitors aim to level the series. With the brilliant century, Jaiswal has entered an elite list of Indian openers, who have scored multiple tons in England.
Jaiswal joins Gavaskar, Dravid in elite centurion list
This was his second hundred of the series, and he joins an illustrious list of India openers with multiple centuries in England. Jaiswal, alongside Sunil Gavaskar, and Rahul Dravid have two Test tons as openers in England. With Gavaskar, and Dravid retired, Jaiswal has a strong chance of even surpassing KL Rahul, but for that, the youngster has to wait for the next England tour.

Jaiswal started the series with a hundred, and he bowed out with a century as well. His England tour started with a blistering hundred at Leeds. It was followed by a string of failures before the opener played a blinder at the Oval to push India towards victory.
Jaiswal's terrific record vs England in Tests
In a relatively short Test career, Jaiswal has become an integral member of the India team and has a special relationship with England. Jaiswal has 6 centuries to his name, with 4 of them coming against the English side.
In 10 matches against them, Jaiswal has 1105 runs, at an average of 76 and counting. In the home Test series between the two teams last year, the youngster slammed two double tons, and racked up more than 700-runs in the series.
