The first ODI of the 2-match series between India and Sri Lanka witnessed an epic tie match, with both the teams scoring 230.

At one stage, India needed just a solitary run off the last 14 balls, with two wickets in hand. However, Sri Lankan skipper, Charith Asalanka weaved his magic and dismissed Shivam Dube and Arshdeep Singh off successive deliveries to end the game in a tie.

Super Over in IND-SL 3rd ODI?

While most people expected a Super Over to take place to determine the winner, that wasn't the case as the series remained evenly poised.

However, as per an ICC Official, as reported by the Telegraph, a Super Over will take place if the 3rd and the final ODI ends in a tie.

This is the first time since 1997 that India has failed to win a series against Sri Lanka. The scenario could have been different had their been a Super Over in the first ODI to elect the winner.

Talking about the second match, Sri Lanka posted 240/9, and won the match by 32 runs. India were off to a comfortable start in the chase, courtesy, Rohit Sharma. The Indian skipper slammed yet another fifty, but once he departed, the entire batting unit fell like a pack of cards and lost the match.
