When the ODI series started a couple of days ago, everyone expected India to win the series 3-0, just like the T20I result.

However, Sri Lanka have risen from the Ashes and have certainly been the best team out of the two in the first couple of games. Their inspirational bowling led to India's middle-order collapse, as we witnessed a tied game. In the second encounter, the Lankan bowlers, particularly Jeffrey Vandersay, showed his class and picked up 6 wickets to rattle the famed Indian batters.

Vandersay's spell puts SL on verge of history

His brilliant bowling helped Sri Lanka win the second ODI by 32 runs, thus taking a 1-0 lead in the series. With that emphatic victory, the hosts are within touching distance of a first bilateral series win over the Indian team, since 1997.

Vandersay, was the star for the Islan Nation, as he replaced an injured Wanindu Hasaranga in the side. His figures read - 6 for 33 in 10 overs, as the Indian middle-order collapsed under his superb bowling.

He got the prized scalps of Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli, as the home team decimated the visiting side, and are now on the verge of a historic series win, for which they have waited 27-years.
